Pollution Research Reports Turnaround

Share

Pollution Research & Control Corp., a Glendale maker of air-pollution monitoring devices, reported profits for its fourth quarter and for all of 1993, compared with year-earlier losses.

The company attributed the profit turnaround to its solving an inventory-control problem. However, it warned that new product development combined with shipping delays due to January’s earthquake would result in lower sales and profit in the first quarter of 1994. In 1993’s first quarter, the company earned $303,000 on $1.6 million in sales.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31, Pollution Research had net income of $182,000, in contrast with a loss of $1.7 million a year before. Its sales rose 7%, to $1.7 million from $1.58 million.
