BURBANK : Golf Tourney to Help Fund Youth Club
A charity golf tournament to raise money to start a Boys & Girls Club in Burbank has been scheduled for April 29 at DeBell Municipal Golf Course.
So far, about $31,000 has been raised for the club, and organizers of the golf tournament predict the event will raise at least $7,000.
Organizers are trying to line up sponsors for each hole, and so far support has come from associations of Burbank police, firefighters and city employees, an auto dealership, a local union and Walt Disney Studios.
The tournament had been planned for last October, but was canceled because the date conflicted with another golf tournament fund-raiser.
