Amgen Suit Dismissed: The Thousand Oaks-based biotechnology firm said a federal judge in Los Angeles has dismissed a class-action shareholder lawsuit that charged Amgen and two senior executives--Chairman Gordon Binder and Senior Vice President Lowell Sears--with securities laws violations. Plaintiffs’ lawyers and Amgen requested the dismissal after reviewing the records of Amgen and various securities analysts and concluding that it was inappropriate to pursue the case, Amgen said. No payment or settlement was made by Amgen, the company said.
