Sculley’s Successor at Spectrum Quits: Edward Maskaly, appointed chairman and chief executive March 21, will resign as soon as a replacement can be found. Spectrum Information Technologies Inc. said in a news release that Maskaly felt that the company needs a new leader with no past ties to the firm, based in Manhasset, N.Y. Spectrum gained attention when John Sculley, the former head of Apple Computer, took over as chairman and chief executive in October. He quit four months later after accusing Spectrum of concealing internal problems.
