CSUF Memorial Will Honor Slain Student Torrez
Cathy Torrez, a former honors student at Cal State Fullerton, will be memorialized at a campus service Wednesday, university officials said.
Torrez, a 20-year-old sociology student at the university, was slain by an unknown attacker and found in the trunk of her car on Feb. 19. She was last seen driving her compact car on Feb. 12 when she left her job at a Sav-on Drug Store in Placentia.
The service is open to the public. It will be at noon in the university’s Titan Pavilion. The university also will establish a scholarship fund in Torrez’s name, officials said.
