Positive Step Needed for Burbank Children

Share

* What’s the deal with Burbank’s public schools? They sure aren’t what they used to be! I wish “they” would do something about it!

Now is the time, folks. Cities change. People change. But thousands of children continue to show up every day, ready to learn in buildings that haven’t changed. They are run down and outmoded. It’s time for the people of Burbank to take responsibility for their city’s future. We’re not talking about creating a decent environment in which our children can learn. We’re talking about investing in and controlling the destiny of our city.

As Burbank moves toward the future, our public schools will play a major role in attracting quality business and encouraging the expansion of key companies. Public schools will provide businesses with skilled employees. Public schools will attract new taxpayers to our city. Strong public schools will raise property values.

Bottom line: A “yes” vote on April 12 on the school bond issue will make an impact on much more than the future of Burbank’s children. It will affect the future for all citizens of Burbank. Let’s quit the nit-picking and bellyaching about the sad state of affairs and take a positive step toward making Burbank a model city by voting yes on school bonds.
