Research Branch Opens: Roper Starch Worldwide, one of the oldest names in market research, has opened a West Coast office in Newport Beach. The company, which conducted the most recent study for Kinsey on American sexuality, has worked for such clients here as Foote, Cone & Belding; Honda, Apple Computers and Sega. Running the West Coast operation is Albert J. Yesk, formerly director of the Newport Beach office of market researcher Albemarle Yankelovich Clancy Shulman. Yesk spent 29 years with his former firm. “There’s a lot of business here, the economy’s coming back, and we feel it’s a good time” for a West Coast office, Yesk said. “This is a company that was trying to do it all from the East.” Roper Starch, which is based in Mamaroneck, N.Y., has affiliates in 33 other countries.
