Missouri Voters Reject Slot Machine Wagering

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. —
Missouri voters Tuesday narrowly defeated a constitutional amendment that would have allowed slot machines on riverboats.
The amendment would have lifted the ban in the Missouri Constitution on “games of chance.”
Riverboat owners can still get a state license to offer so-called games of skill, such as poker or blackjack.
