Alpha Microsystems Posts Profit of $336,000 for Year

Alpha Microsystems, the Santa Ana computer company, posted a profit of $336,000, or 8 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Feb. 27.

That contrasts with a loss of $3.7 million, or $1.25 a share, for the previous year. Sales declined 13%, to $39.3 million from $45 million.

For the fourth quarter, the company said profit was down 60%, to $103,000, or 2 cents a share, from $260,000, or 8 cents a share, for the like quarter last year. Sales were up 3%, to $9.8 million from $9.5 million.
