BALTIMORE —
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore announced Friday that Pope John Paul II would visit the city on Oct. 23.
Archbishop William Keeler said in a statement details were not finalized for the visit to Baltimore, America’s first diocese. But Keeler said it was possible the Pope would hold a mass at Oriole Park.
Cardinal John O’Connor of New York said last week the Pope would also visit New York during an autumn U.S. visit and speak to the United Nations.
