Advanced Photonix in Pact to Develop Scanner

Share

Advanced Photonix, a Camarillo producer of photodetector devices, has signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory to jointly develop a new medical scanner.

The two partners expect to spend a total of $250,000 this year to fund the project. Advanced Photonix said the scanner, if successfully marketed, could increase its annual revenues by $5 million.

The Camarillo company is now involved in developing two types of high-definition scanners to diagnose tumors, neurological disorders and other problems by doing cross-section imaging of a patient’s body.
