Abbey Healthcare Group Sued by Former Exec: Victor Chaltiel, 52, is seeking more than $6 million in damages from the Costa Mesa-based health care provider, alleging that he was wrongfully terminated in February. In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, he charges that Abbey used “heavy-handed, bad-faith tactics” to eliminate his contract and push him out as president and chief executive. Chaltiel, of Manhattan Beach, joined Abbey in 1993, shortly after it paid $195 million to acquire Torrance-based Total Pharmaceuticals where he had served as chairman, president and chief executive since 1989. Abbey would not comment on the suit.
