Satellite Technology Management Inc. said Tuesday that it received an order valued at about $1.2 million from Colombian newspaper El Tiempo for a very small aperture satellite network, or VSAT.

El Tiempo, in Bogota, is Colombia’s leading daily newspaper, with circulation of more than 600,000. The equipment will be shipped and installed later this year. The network will supplement existing satellite links connecting El Tiempo’s plants in Bogota, Barranquilla and Cali.

Satellite Technology, based in Costa Mesa, makes satellite and radio broadcast equipment designed to support data, fax, voice and video networks.
