Wonderware Corp.: The firm said Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire Rubicon Technology Inc. in a transaction valued at $2 million. The acquisition is expected to be completed in May.

Wonderware, based in Irvine, is a supplier of software products based on Microsoft Windows. Rubicon, based in Mountain View, makes systems software.

In a separate announcement, the company said profit for the first quarter more than doubled, to $1.5 million, or 12 cents a share, from $647,000, or 7 cents a share on a pro forma basis, for the same period last year. Revenue rose 76%, to $7.2 million from $4.1 million.
