Gen. Horner Will Retire as Top Space Defense Officer

Air Force Gen. Chuck Horner, a decorated combat pilot who directed allied air operations during the Persian Gulf War, is stepping down as the nation’s top space defense officer. The 57-year-old four-star general has run the United States Space Command, Air Force Space Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command since mid-1992.
