GARDEN GROVE : Forum to Help Those Buying First Home

The city is sponsoring a free forum Saturday to help potential first-time home buyers. The session will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Meeting Center’s Constitution Room, 11300 Stanford Ave.

The forum is open to the public on a space-available basis, said Jennifer Mack, housing program coordinator with the city’s Community Development Department.

“There is a big demand for this type of information,” Mack said. “We’ve already received 650 inquiries from people thinking about buying their first homes.”

Mack said the forum will have experts who will discuss such things as governmental programs for financially helping first-time home buyers.

“This is the first time the city has sponsored a forum such as this, but we’re thinking of making it an annual event,” Mack said.
