Nixon Stamp Expected to Be Issued on Jan. 9
A commemorative stamp honoring Richard Nixon will be issued Jan. 9, 1995, if past U.S. Postal Service practices are continued as expected, a U.S. Postal Service spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The Postal Service practice has been to issue commemorative stamps of Presidents on their first birthday following their death, said Monica Hand.
Presidents are the only individuals selected for a stamp who are exempt from the Postal Service’s customary 10-year wait following death, Hand said.
