Beschen Makes Finals at Huntington Beach

Shane Beschen of San Clemente qualified for the finals of the Katin Team Challenge surfing competition Saturday on the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier.

Four top pros advanced to today’s finals, including world champion Kelly Slater.

Tag-team quarterfinals begin at 7 a.m. today, with individual and team finals beginning at noon.
