OXNARD : Murder Charge Filed in Woman’s Death
Ventura County prosecutors filed a murder charge Tuesday against Gary Michael Rose, 25, of Oxnard in the death of his ex-girlfriend.
Rose faces one charge of murder with the use of a firearm, Ventura County Deputy Dist. Atty. Donald C. Glynn said. He was being held at Ventura County Jail on $250,000 bail, and his arraignment is scheduled for May 24.
Authorities said Rose surrendered to police after shooting Victoria Ramey, 31, at her Oxnard home Sunday. Friends of the victim said Rose had moved from Indiana about two weeks ago and was looking for a job while staying with Ramey.
Neighbors said Ramey, who had been engaged to Rose a few years ago, was engaged to be married to another man at the time of her death.
