A Smile Makes a Great Accessory

“Laughter Is Inner Jogging” was the catch phrase for the Wellness Community of Orange County’s fund-raiser Monday at the Improv in Irvine. But no one chose to wear jogging attire . . . thank goodness, although it was OKd on the invitation.

Instead, most of the 270 guests wore business suits or after-6 dresses to the fifth annual “Evening at the Improv,” a benefit for the organization that offers free help to those affected by cancer.

Because one of the goals of the Wellness Community is to improve quality of life by developing a positive attitude, a few guests focused on the lighter side of fashion. Shira Levy, the development director and outreach coordinator for the group, wore a denim jacket hand-painted with pinballs, flappers and even a “Tilt” warning.

Adel V. Rakhshani looked more like a house painter than a fine artist in his white cap, white shirt and white pants. His work was on display at a private reception for the underwriters of the event.
