Up With People, an international student performing group, is looking for families in the San Fernando Valley to house their cast of 150 during the group’s tour later this month.

The group of students, ages 17 to 25, will be in the area May 22-29. They will perform at Pacoima and Haddon elementary schools in Pacoima, Oxnard Elementary School in North Hollywood and Lassen Elementary in North Hills, said spokeswoman Jennifer Hunnicutt.

Host families, which are asked to provide breakfasts and dinners for a week and transportation to shuttle points, will receive two complimentary tickets to performances, Hunnicutt said.

The group’s World in Motion Tour consists of a two-hour musical show of international contemporary songs and dances performed for students in grades four through six, Hunnicutt said.

“We try to help develop a greater sense of understanding for other cultures in their communities,” Hunnicutt said.

The students represent 22 countries and all speak English. Up With People is based in Broomfield, Colo.
