Reynolds, who played four years in Seattle, also tells his favorite story about Ken Griffey Jr.

Griffey didn’t make an out in an organized baseball game until he was 15 years old, the way Reynolds tells it, and when he finally did, he spots his mom in the stands and tells her that he might quit baseball for good.

“I don’t know what you’re so upset about,” Albert Griffey said. “Your dad makes outs all the time.”

Said Griffey: “I’m not my dad. I don’t make outs.”

“True story,” Reynolds said.
