Apple Unveils New PowerBooks: Apple Computer introduced new PowerBook notebook computers featuring an innovative way to move the cursor. Instead of a trackball or mouse, the four new PowerBook 500 models feature a touch-sensitive rectangular area below the space bar. The cursor is moved by running a finger over the space. The new machines and two sub-notebook versions are immediately available and replace most existing PowerBooks. Apple also cut prices of its older PowerBooks and several other computers by up to 27%.
