The Wet Seal Inc.: The Irvine young women’s apparel retailer posted a loss of $662,000, or 5 cents a share, for the first quarter of fiscal 1994, contrasted with a profit of $71,000, or 1 cent a share, for first quarter of fiscal 1993. Sales for the quarter ended April 30 declined 9%, to $30.2 million from $33.1 million. The company said it opened one store in the first quarter of fiscal 1994, its first in New Jersey.
