Men Need a Lesson in Love, Doggone It

Thanks for Stephanie Miller’s “Mere Men Are No Match for Puppy Love” (Laugh Lines, May 13).

Her admitting preferring Pookie (her dog) to boyfriends liberated me of the same feelings I’ve shamefully hidden for years in tight “closets.” Arf, Arf, Arf, out, out, out . . .

I’d like to “out” what Miller’s article is all about. It’s about the betrayals women constantly experience--are you listening, Mr. President?-- and how the “Pookies” of the world can teach us something about real and unconditional love, devotion and loyalty.
