GORDY SPEAKS: Not only is notoriously press-shy Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. set to break his media silence with an autobiography, scheduled for September publication by Warner Books, but he’s also being paid tribute to by old and new Motown artists for an accompanying CD.

The Temptations, the Four Tops, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson are among the “classic” Motown acts slated to contribute new recordings, while the likes of Johnny Gill, Queen Latifah and Boyz II Men are expected to represent the current Motown roster.

The album will feature a new song, “Berry’s Theme,” as well as new versions of “You Made Me So Very Happy,” “Try It Baby,” and “I Want to Go Back There Again.” It will also feature interviews with Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, Melvin Franklin, Wonder and Robinson.
