The son of Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders waived his right to a jury trial, and the felony drug charge against him will be decided solely by a judge. Kevin Elders, 26, appeared Monday at a preliminary hearing.

Elders was arrested in December on charges of selling one-eighth of an ounce of cocaine to an undercover agent here.
