Second Trial Ahead in Bar Study Case: A federal district court jury deadlocked on the punitive damages portion of an antitrust lawsuit brought by Barpassers of Santa Monica against BAR/BRI, the nation’s largest bar review company. Last week, the jury awarded Barpassers nearly $4 million in damages, plus attorney fees. However, BAR/BRI was also awarded $752,000 in damages for deceptive advertising by Barpassers in the dispute between the rivals. A date for the retrial has not yet been set.
