SensorMedics: The maker of products for respiratory care has filed a lawsuit claiming that a competitor is infringing on its patent for a “breath-by-breath” analysis process.

The lawsuit, which was filed Friday in federal court in Minnesota, responds to an earlier claim by Medical Graphics Corp. that it holds a patent it says SensorMedics is infringing. Yorba Linda-based SensorMedics has also alleged that Medical Graphics Corp. of St. Paul, Minn., is participating in deceptive trade practices and unfair competition.
