Israelis Kill 2 Palestinians
Israeli security forces shot and killed two fugitive Palestinians Tuesday as the two men got off a bus in a West Bank town near Jerusalem, bystanders said.
Residents of Al Ram took to the streets in protest, and soldiers fired tear gas to disperse the crowds.
Witnesses said Israeli security forces posed as vegetable vendors in a van near a bus stop. When the bus stopped, the security forces asked two young Palestinians to step forward. Then, without warning, the troops started shooting, the witnesses said.
Army officials confirmed the shootings but declined comment on whether the Palestinians, both members of the radical Hamas group, were shot without warning.
Adel abu Sneneh, 34, said he saw five Israelis get out of the Ford and two shot at the Palestinians. He said that after the two Palestinians fell the Israelis kept shooting. Sneneh said a soldier put a gun next to one body and photographed it.
