Share

Fire restrictions in the Angeles National Forest are in effect as fire season begins.

Wood fires and barbecues are restricted to developed campgrounds. Gas-powered stoves are allowed with a fire permit. Charcoal barbecues are allowed in designated areas only.

Also in the forest, spring wildflowers are in bloom, mostly below the 5,500-foot elevation along Angeles Crest Highway and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road. Flowers include wallflowers, tree tobacco, bush poppies, Indian paintbrush, sticky monkey flower and prickly phlox.
