Borland Reports Fourth-Quarter Loss: The software maker attributed the $76-million loss on declining sales of its Quattro Pro spreadsheet program and slow sales of other programs. The Scotts Valley, Calif., company, in the middle of a restructuring, did not introduce any new products in its final quarter, which ended March 31. For the fourth quarter, Borland International Inc.’s loss came to $2.84 per share, contrasted with earnings of $5.1 million, or 19 cents per share, for the same period last year. Revenue fell 56% to $51 million, from $117.1 million. The company expects to introduce new products in the latter half of the year.
