Many savvy travelers bound for foreign shores line up their rental cars before they leave home, a tactic that usually results in considerable savings but requires some planning ahead.

Now Kemwel, a company based in Harrison, N.Y., that offers international car rentals and European car leases among other travel services, has a service for the free spirits among us.

Kemwel’s new CarPass Plan enables travelers to prepay for their car rentals in U.S. dollars but choose their rental dates after they arrive at their destinations. This provides the flexibility of renting on the spot while saving 20% to 50% off local rates.
