Kathleen S. Waycott; Philanthropist, Volunteer
Kathleen S. Waycott, 77, philanthropist and volunteer aiding the Palm Springs Desert Museum and the Eisenhower Medical Center. Mrs. Waycott, who maintained homes in Rancho Mirage and Oceanside, was a native of Wheeling, W.Va. She served two terms as president and 19 years as a trustee of the Palm Springs museum, and was a national board member for the hospital and co-founder of its women’s support group. Mrs. Waycott was also active in fund raising and other projects assisting the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, the College of the Desert and the Braille Institute of the Desert. For her efforts, she was once honored with the mayor’s proclamation of “Mrs. Ralph Waycott Day in Palm Springs.” On May 30 in Rancho Mirage of cancer.
