Peter West has been appointed vice president of corporate marketing for Platinum Software Corp. in Irvine and also assumes responsibility for the company’s customer service operations. Kevin Dowling, the previous vice president of marketing, has taken the position of vice president and general manager of the company’s Platinum division. For the past few months, West has been a private consultant to several computer industry companies. Before that, he spent seven years with the ASK Group of Santa Clara and 10 years at Scicon Ltd., a software services and consulting company based in the United Kingdom.
