3D Systems Turns Profit on Record Revenue

Share

3D Systems, the Valencia maker of machines that produce small-scale models of objects designed on computer screens, reported a profit of $828,561 in the first quarter that ended April 1, compared to a loss of $695,212 in the same period a year earlier. The turnaround was on a record revenue of $9.47 million, up 32% from $7.16 million a year earlier.

The company attributed the gain to increased sales due to growing acceptance of its devices, which manufacture plastic casts of designs so that engineers can get a three-dimensional representation of their ideas.
