SHERMAN OAKS : Bullock’s Reopens 2 Floors for Business
For Bullock’s shoppers, today is the day to see the glass half full.
The first two of the four floors in the earthquake-battered Bullock’s Sherman Oaks will reopen today, marking the completion of all structural work to the building. The department store is located in the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square, 14000 Riverside Drive.
The 309,600-square-foot store, with four selling floors, has been closed since Jan. 17 because of damage from the 6.8 Northridge earthquake. Repairs included replacing interior floors, a new exterior facade, main entrance, lighting and building signage.
Following more repairs, the third floor is expected to reopen July 15 and the fourth floor will be reopened mid-October.
Hours for the Sherman Oaks store will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The store had been operating its women’s ready-to-wear and accessories business out of the 40,000-square-foot store formally occupied by I. Magnin.
A spokeswoman for Macy’s West/Bullock’s said she has no estimates for repair costs.
