Milwaukee Manager Phil Garner replaced left-hander Teddy Higuera with right-hander Mike Ignasiak for Sunday’s game at New York.

Over his last four starts, Higuera (1-5, 7.74 earned-run average) has allowed 20 earned runs in 9 1/3 innings for a 19.29 ERA. He will see duty out of the bullpen.

The Brewers activated third baseman Kevin Seitzer from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Jeff Cirillo to New Orleans, their triple-A affiliate in the American Assn.

Joint restraining orders were issued by a Riverside Superior Court judge against the San Francisco Giants’ Barry Bonds and a Riverside man who has been involved in a dispute with Bonds. Bonds agreed to stay away from Shirley Lewis and her son, Sam Green, if Green agrees to stay away from Bonds’ relatives. . . The Toronto Blue Jays placed left-handed pitcher Al Leiter on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 9, and recalled right-hander Woody Williams (strained groin) from triple-A Syracuse.

Because of Bryan Harvey’s disappointing one-inning performance Tuesday for Brevard County, Florida Marlin officials have extended his rehabilitation stay with the Class-A Florida State League team for one more game. . . . Oklahoma outfielder Chip Glass, the most valuable player of last week’s College World Series, signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians. . . . Pitcher Wally Whitehurst (4-7, 4.92 ERA) of the San Diego Padres was put on the 60-day disabled list after having arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow.
