Ballet Pacifica has announced the four choreographers who will create works for the company during its fourth annual “Pacifica Choreographic Project,” which runs July 17-30. Rebecca Kelly, Pascal Rioult and David Allan, all of New York City, and Paul Vasterling of Nashville, were selected from a pool of 25 applicants by Molly Lynch, the troupe’s artistic director.

Kelly has danced with Lar Lubovitch and the Charles Weidman Theatre Dance Ensemble and has her own company. Rioult, a native of Caen, France, has been a member of the Martha Graham Dance Company since 1986. Allan danced with the National Ballet of Canada from 1977 to 1988 and has created more than 35 ballets, eight of which were commissioned by Erik Bruhn for the Canadian company. Vasterling has danced in the Ohio Ballet, Ballet Austin, Ballet Mississippi, Ballet San Antonio and, most recently, the Nashville Ballet. He also has participated in the Carlisle Project, a choreographic workshop in Pennsylvania.

The Ballet Pacifica project will culminate in a performance of the new works at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa on July 30. Information: (714) 642-9275.
