Southland Firms Dominate Gold Nuggets

Southern California home builders and architects have won 16 of 37 Grand Awards in the Gold Nugget design competition at the 1994 Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) & Remodelers Show, the annual meeting of developers and allied professionals from the 14 Western states and Pacific Rim countries.

Southland builders, designers and projects again dominated the Gold Nugget contest, although not by as wide a margin as in the past. Last year, by contrast, 22 grand awards went to Southern Californians or their works.

The design contest was the highlight of the 36th annual PCBC, one of the largest building industry conventions in the United States, which ended Saturday at the Moscone Convention Center here.
