IRVINE : Red Cross to Honor Notable Women
Jehan Sadat, the former First Lady of Egypt, will be keynote speaker at the Red Cross’ annual Clara Barton Awards luncheon Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
The event will honor Orange County women who have contributed to their community in the areas of education, the environment, and health and youth services.
Clara Barton was the founder of the American Red Cross.
Sadat, the wife of slain Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, has been active in the international women’s rights movement and has helped establish humanitarian programs for wounded soldiers.
