Omni Technology Sold: Microsemi Corp. in Santa Ana said that it sold its Omni Technology Corp. subsidiary to Irvine-based Technology Marketing Inc., a 25-year-old company that tests electronic components.

Technology Marketing paid $2.5 million in cash for Omni Technology in San Jose, which provides high-reliability screening and testing services for the electronics industry.

Roger Aouizerat, president and chief executive of Technology Marketing, said the acquisition would bring more than $5 million in revenue and assets of about $1 million to his company.

Microsemi, which makes electronic chips known as discrete semiconductors, sold the business to focus on its core operations.

Philip Frey, chairman of Microsemi, said the sale completes the restructuring plan announced by the company several years ago.
