Beverly Hills Fan Co. in Woodland Hills reported that its fiscal second-quarter earnings plunged 80% and that its sales in the quarter fell 15%, a result of shifting sales from the second quarter to the first quarter, earthquake damage and curtailed deliveries because of the dock strike in April, it said.

The marketer of ceiling fans and lighting fixtures had a net income of $40,873 in the three months that ended April 30, compared with a $207,475 profit a year earlier. Its sales fell to $2.15 million from $2.53 million in the same period.

For the six months, Beverly Hills Fan saw its earnings rise 29%, to $56,921 from $44,021 a year before. Its first-half sales totaled $3.79 million, a 14% increase from $3.31 million in sales.
