Shareholders Seek to Prevent UAL Buyout Vote: Stockholders in the parent company of United Airlines filed a motion to block a July 12 vote on turning the carrier into the largest employee-owned company in the United States. The motion, filed in Delaware Chancery Court, says UAL Corp. failed to adequately tell stockholders of opposition to the plan from certain directors and union members. The motion also contends that it is unfair to ask shareholders to vote on the buyout before UAL consummates two bond offerings and a preferred stock offering.
