Rudyard Beldner isn’t Scottish, but when he hears a reel, jig or strathspey, he and his group launch into a Scottish country dance. His wife, Eunice, isn’t Ukrainian, but she can decorate wooden eggs like a famed Slavic artisan.

And the two are eager to share their talents at Thousand Oaks’ annual International Arts Festival.

The Beldners will join artists, dancers and chefs from around the world and across the county in the all-day party, which will run from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday in Conejo Creek Park North, behind the Thousand Oaks Library on Janss Road.

Irish, German and Swiss high-steppers will dance on a rented stage, as 13 groups perform every half-hour. Carlos Amezcua, an anchor with KTLA-TV’s morning news, will host the event.

The International Arts Festival will also offer foods from around the world, including Mexican, Indian, Chinese and American. Nearly 60 artisans will exhibit crafts. From noon to 5 p.m., children will be able to paint ceramic tiles, which will later be laid in a walkway through the Civic Arts Plaza park.

Admission to the festival is free, but tiles cost $5 apiece. The event is funded by more than two dozen individual and corporate donations.
