39 Hurt, Hundreds Flee Blast at Chemical Plant

BRISTOL, Pa. —
An explosion shook a chemical plant in suburban Philadelphia on Tuesday, injuring at least 39 people, forcing hundreds of evacuations and closing Interstate 95.
The blast occurred just before noon at United Chemical Technologies Inc. in Bristol Township and started a fire that burned for nearly three hours.
