LIFE SAVER: It was a gut feeling, the Tarzana teen said, which made him pay attention a few weeks ago to a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation lesson. His heads-up sixth sense ended up saving a little girl’s life. On Tuesday, Jeff Stauffer rescued a drowning 3-year-old from his apartment complex pool. . . . “Something took over, like instinct,” Stauffer said (B2). “I didn’t really think about it.”

MARCH FOR JESUS: For many, the day will be dedicated to Jesus as Christians across the nation march today to show their devotion. And that includes many from this area. In Santa Clarita, in fact, they’re expecting 5,000 to show up with banners and flags (B11). . . . Evangelical author John Dawson of Lake View Terrace calls the marches an “amazing movement” that brings black and white Christians together.

FAYE’S TURN: The “Sunset Blvd.” saga moved Friday to Stansbury Avenue in Sherman Oaks. That’s where Faye Dunaway (above), on location for a film, gave her account of the show’s closing (F1). . . . But only a few residents turned out to catch a glimpse of the star. “I feel sorry for her,” said one neighbor, “but I never thought she had a voice.”

WHAT HEAT? It was another hot one in the Valley on Friday, but that didn’t mean a thing to golfers. As usual, they turned out in heavy numbers. At Sepulveda Golf in Encino about 500 players had showed up by mid-afternoon.
