A Burbank man who had pleaded guilty to three counts of exhibiting child pornography was sentenced to one year in Los Angeles County Jail, authorities said Thursday.

Under a plea agreement, Adin Garner, 65, will remain on probation for five years after he is released and be subject to several special conditions during that time, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Greg Denton.

Garner’s home can be searched for child pornography at any time, and he is prohibited from possessing any material of a pornographic nature during his probation, Denton said.

Garner, who then lived in the Sunland-Tujunga area, was arrested at his home in December by Los Angeles police who had watched his mail order business since April, 1992, authorities said.

Detectives arrested Garner after they placed orders for child pornography videotapes using an alias and a post office box, authorities said at the time of his arrest.

Investigators said Garner, who used the alias Mel Lennon, has been involved in the pornography distribution business since the 1960s, and that much of the material he was selling through videotapes were copies of old pornographic films.

In one instance, Garner made a child pornography tape by quickly turning the pages of old pictures of children in sexual situations in front of a camera, Denton said.

“In my opinion, he was doing this to make money, and what he had and sold was old, old videos that he sold through mail order,” Denton said.

Garner pleaded guilty to the charges June 16, Denton said.
