LOTS OF DOGS: Yorba Linda officials told Dan Lewis and Roberta Davis that their eight German shepherds and one chow chow violated the city’s rule of only three dogs per lot. That didn’t deter the couple: to keep their beloved animals, they have bought two lots adjoining their own. They’ve fenced in a dog run that covers all three lots. Marvels City Councilman Mark Schwing: “Only in Yorba Linda would someone have enough money to buy two lots for their dogs.”

NETWORKING: Those who listen to Asian radio should be pleased with the new move by Orange County’s KBAX (107.1 FM) and KWIZ (96.7 AM). The two, along with two other Southern California stations, have joined the Asia One Network, the country’s first Asian-language radio network. . . . New programming will include a Japanese-language drive-time show featuring news and weather. Mandarin- and Korean-language programming will soon be added.

BO NO’S: Anyone who’s followed Bo Jackson’s two-sport career is familiar with the “Bo Knows” ad campaign he did for Nike. So when the Angels outfielder agreed to be part of a July 9-24 sports festival at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, it was a natural for park officials to promote it with a flier saying in blaring headlines: “Bo Knows Basketball?” . . . . Now they’re a little embarrassed about it: Jackson, who plays with an artificial hip, has been forced to drop out, citing an important session with his doctors.

SURF BIRDS: Dolly and Lee Dey of Huntington Beach took off to see America in their camper after they retired in 1989. They’ve been on the road ever since. Their son Mark forwards their mail as they make their way across the 49 states--all but Hawaii. One recent highlight: placing the Huntington Beach “Surf City” sign at Sign Post Forest in the Yukon, along the Alaskan Highway. Says Mark Dey: “They’ve had five great years. But after Alaska, I think they’re coming home.”
