Furon Co.: The company said Tuesday that it has been awarded a contract, valued at $4 million, by Boeing Co. for specialized aircraft components. Work will be completed by Furon’s advanced components division in Seattle.
The three-year contract is for the production of ducts in the Boeing 737 aircraft. It complements two contracts valued at more than $14 million that were awarded last year. The ducts deliver heating and air-conditioning service for the aircraft’s fuselage, and are manufactured from newly designed composites that replace rigid foam components. Furon is based in Laguna Niguel.
